A solemn concert program has been arranged in Kyiv on the occasion of May 28 – Azerbaijan`s Independence Day.
According to the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, city residents and activists of the Rada of Ukrainian Azerbaijanis took part in the event co-organized by the initiative of the United Diaspora of Ukrainian Azerbaijanis (UABD) and Azerbaijan Culture Center named after Muslim Magomayev.
Speaking at the event, adviser to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Chairman of UABD Hikmat Javadov congratulated compatriots on the occasion of the holiday as a great importance in the history of Azerbaijani nation.
People's Artist of Ukraine Gurban Abbasov performed Azerbaijani songs with participation of "Azerbaijan" and "Qafqaz" ensembles.
The participants also viewed the exhibition reflecting the history, culture and national traditions of Azerbaijani people.
