The statement came from TUSAŞ CEO Temel Kotil, AzVision.az reports citing Defence Turk’s Twitter page.
"We have started producing two more KAAN fighter jets. Our aircraft can fly, but we are picking up on some tests. We will deliver 20 of our KAAN combat aircraft to the Turkish Air Force in 2028. Block 10 package, these aircraft will be a sub-segment of the F-35 and above the F-16 class," he said.
Commenting on the project, Emre Vild, Chief Product Engineer for the KAAN jet, said: "We are developing all our platforms, working on them for testing and delivery to our air force. While we were assembling and designing our first aircraft, we were developing it with the idea that it would make its first flight.”
“Then we will build another six test sites. In addition, we will carry out our test flights on other platforms. Then we will manufacture our aircraft according to our customer's wishes in different blocks. We will develop our aircraft with the data we get from the flight tests," he added.
