  Azerbaijani PM meets with Kazakh counterpart

Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov has today met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, who is on an official visit to the country.

The two government heads have first held a one-on-one meeting to discuss topical issues of a bilateral agenda.

The meeting continued in an expanded format with participation of both delegations.

Azerbaijani PM hailed the fact that Alikhan Smailov has embarked on his first overseas visit to Azerbaijan following his re-appointment as a Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

The two emphasized that the year 2022 marked the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. They noted that the two states managed to build constructive dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation throughout the years.

The Prime Ministers noted the rapid development of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan strategic partnership in all areas thanks to joint efforts of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The government heads highlighted the great contribution of high-level reciprocal visits and meetings to the development of fruitful relations between the two countries. They also described Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s successful visit to Kazakhstan in April of the current year as another confirmation for that.

They also stressed the significance of the documents signed during the visit including the "Protocol on establishment of the Supreme Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Kazakhstan".

PM Ali Asadov expressed his gratitude to the Kazakh counterpart for organizing high-level events marking the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the country.

The government heads also highlighted Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s official visit to Azerbaijan in 2022. They said that the signing of the “Declaration on strengthening strategic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Kazakhstan and deepening the allied mutual activities” has elevated Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan relations to the new level.

Azerbaijani PM also expressed gratitude for construction of the Center for the Development of Creativity named after Kurmangazy in the liberated city of Fuzuli at the initiative of the Kazakhstan’s President.

The discussions also revolved around the prospects for development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the spheres of high technologies, telecommunications and renewables.

Following the meeting, bilateral documents have been signed between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
