Armenia's assessment of the appropriate measures taken by Azerbaijan to ensure the security of the Lachin border checkpoint following the attack that resulted the injury of a serviceman of the State Border Service as 'blockade' is groundless, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said.

In a letter addressed to the UN secretary-general, the minister notes that the Lachin road is currently used only for medical purposes through the International Committee of the Red Cross since Armenia did not provide guarantees that the same provocation would not be repeated, AzVision.az reports.

The minister said that though the Azerbaijani side suggested using the Aghdam-Khankandi road to supply Armenian residents with more products, and Armenia rejected this proposal.
