UN needs to put an end to Armenia

If United Nations Security Council convenes an emergency meeting at the request of Armenia on so-called the “deteriorating humanitarian situation” in Karabakh, it must recognize and support the sovereign right of Azerbaijan to regulate all humanitarian delivery through its territories and put an end to Armenia’s “the only road” manipulation and whining, Azerbaijani MP, Head of Azerbaijani Delegation to OSCE PA, Azay Guliyev said in his Facebook post.

Azay Guliyev stated that such a position of the UN Security Council would be in full conformity with international law and in particular with its well-known 4 Resolutions of 1993 supporting the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviability of internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan.

Guliyev also noted that Any possible decision or statement to be made by the UN Security Council will also be a great test for all Secretary Council’s members and in particular for USA and EU advocating and mediating a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan to achieve lasting peace, reconciliation and prosperity in South Caucasus based on the above-mentioned principles.

"It is worse to mention that in 2014 UN Security Council rejected the request of the Russian Federation to deliver humanitarian aid with dozens of convoys to the Donetsk region of Ukraine rightfully referring to the fact that this aid had not been agreed upon or authorized by Ukraine and such one-sided action run against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the recipient country", he added.

He concluded his Facebook post by emphasizing that let us wait and see what means for UN Security Council and its member countries the İnternational law and collectively shared values when they come to Azerbaijan.
