Azerbaijan relocates 17 more families to Aghali village

The relocation of former Azerbaijani IDPs to their native lands continues under President Ilham Aliyev's instructions.

At this stage, another group of citizens was sent to the liberated Aghali village of the Zangilan district, AzVision.az reports.

Seventeen more families, namely, 95 people, are returning to Aghali village. Thus, 150 families, or 744 people, permanently live in Agali village.

Azerbaijan started to return former internally displaced people to the liberated lands in July 2022.

The Azerbaijani government plans to resettle 2,000 families or 10,000 people in the Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions till late 2023.

The First State Programme of the Great Return was approved under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, according to which Azerbaijani former internally displaced people returned and settled in several settlements in their native lands.
