A delegation led by Minister of Justice and Public Administration of Croatia Ivan Malenica has arrived in Azerbaijan.
The guests have visited the Alley of Honors on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and laid flowers at the grave of Great Leader. The delegation also visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity, and laid flowers at their graves.
Then, the Croatian delegation led by Minister Ivan Malenica met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Minister Fikrat Mammadov.
The meeting highlighted the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Croatia, the special role of the heads of state and government in strengthening bilateral relations and reciprocal visits, as well as the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister of Croatia to Azerbaijan.
Recalling his visits to Croatia, Minister Fikrat Mammadov touched upon the prospects for mutual activity in the legal area and reforms in the justice and judicial system. He highlighted the measures taken to modernize the judicial system and infrastructure with the support of the World Bank, as well as the wider application of digital innovations.
Ivan Malenica expressed his interest in developing cooperation between the Ministries of Justice of the two friendly countries. The Croatian minister emphasized that he was aware of the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank in the judicial sphere, underlining that using the opportunity Croatia embarked on cooperation with the Bank. He said that the creation of modern judicial infrastructure, digitization of the court, application of e-court and e-justice are the top priorities for the country, adding that studying Azerbaijan’s experience in this field could be very useful.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
