The International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation has organized an exhibition in Bern, Switzerland, dedicated to petroglyphs, tribal tamga and ancient Turkic writing. The exhibition, held in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Switzerland, was dedicated to the national holiday of Kazakhstan - Republic Day.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Swiss Confederation Kairat Sarzhanov stressed the historical significance of the country's national holiday, the essence of the ongoing structural reforms, the main provisions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's address to the Kazakh people. He noted the dynamic development of Kazakh-Swiss cooperation in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres. Ambassador Kairat Sarzhanov thanked the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation for the projects implemented towards protecting and promoting at the international level the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan, which is an integral part of the Turkic world, and wished the organization success in its activities.
Speaking at the event, President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Afandiyeva congratulated Ambassador Kairat Sarzhanov and all representatives of the Kazakh people on the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and highlighted the activities and mission of the organization in the field of popularization of the centuries-old history and rich culture of the Turkic peoples. Gunay Afandiyeva emphasized that the exhibition dedicated to petroglyphs, tribal tamga and ancient Turkic writing is part of a large-scale project initiated by the Foundation. Gunay Afandiyeva also spoke about the goals and significance of holding the exhibition once again in the European space.
The exhibition presented various handicrafts, consisting of artistic stone carvings and ceramics of ancient Turkic inscriptions, samples of crafts of famous masters of applied art of Turkic countries - Sanjar Zhubanov (Kazakhstan), Zhumagul Tashiyev (Kyrgyzstan) and Sabit Gurbanov (Azerbaijan).
The event was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, international organizations, government agencies, business and academic circles, turkologists, scientists and cultural figures, as well as representatives of the Kazakh diaspora and the media.
