Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a congratulatory letter to his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, following his re-election victory on February 7.
In the letter, Erdogan expressed sincere congratulations on behalf of himself and the Turkish nation, highlighting Azerbaijan's steady development, the liberation of all its lands from occupation, and ever-increasing reputation under Ilham Aliyev's leadership.
He reaffirmed the strong bond between the two nations, built on the foundations of "unity in joy and sorrow" and "one nation, two states," further strengthened by the recent Shusha Declaration.
Erdogan viewed Ilham Aliyev's re-election as a great achievement not only for Azerbaijan but also for regional peace and stability, expressing hope that the ongoing negotiations with Armenia would culminate in a peace agreement.
He concluded by wishing Aliyev success in his new term and expressing belief that his victory would benefit both the Azerbaijani people and the region as a whole.
