In January-February 2024, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to foreign countries increased by 36 per cent compared to the same period last year and reached 296,500 people, AzVision.az reports citing the State Statistics Committee.
37.9 per cent of citizens visited Türkiye (30.1 per cent more than a year earlier), 21.9 per cent - Russia (+30.6 per cent), 9.7 per cent - Georgia (+32.2 per cent), 8.5 per cent - Iran (+38.5 per cent), 22 per cent - other countries.
68.2 per cent of those who left were men, while 31.8 per cent - women.
67.7 per cent of Azerbaijani citizens who visited foreign countries within 2 months used air transportation, 30 per cent - rail and road, 2.3 per cent - sea transportation.
