Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia hold one-on-one meeting

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a one-on-one meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Monday, AzVision.az reports.

“We are very pleased with how our ties are evolving. For over two years, we have been working within the framework of the Declaration on Allied Interaction, which we signed with you here in the Kremlin in February 2022, and which is the key political document that determines the steady development of our relations in the future,” Vladimir Putin noted.

"We greatly value the respect that the Russian leadership, government, and public showed toward the cherished memory of Heydar Aliyev," stated President Ilham Aliyev.

"The Baikal-Amur Mainline was a nationwide project. I want to particularly emphasize your recognition of Heydar Aliyev's contributions to the execution of this project. We will also be meeting with those who contributed to this global project. Events with such sentimental value bring our countries even closer and contribute to the continued growth of our relations," the head of state noted.

President Ilham Aliyev is paying a working visit to Russia.
