Azerbaijani billionaire sure Armenians may live happier than today
"I attended an official dinner recently given by President Abdullah Gul in honor of President Ilham Aliyev, and I can say that as an Azerbaijani, I am happy that today Azerbaijan and Turkey prove that they are part of a single nation."

It was stated by President of Turkey-based Palmali Group of Companies, Azerbaijani billionaire Mubariz Mansimov in his interview with Milliyet newspaper of Turkey.

A new page is being opened in Turkey-Azerbaijan relations despite the fact that the ties between the two countries cooled due to reports about possible opening of Turkey`s borders with Armenia three years ago, the businessman said.

“I don`t think opening of Turkey-Armenia borders is a simple process. It was Turkish people who closed this border,” Mansimov added.

In this context, he recalled the statement of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Turkey may open its border with Armenia only after Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is settled.

"Indeed, if the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict is resolved, why not open the borders? Although I grew up in a family of a military man, I`m sure that war brings nothing good," Mansimov indicated.

The businessman is convinced that the liberation of occupied Azerbaijani lands will primarily benefit the Armenians themselves, who will be able to build trade ties with Azerbaijan and Turkey. In such a case, and Armenia, today remains a poor country which, will have a happy future."

"However, the Armenian lobby prevents this by all means, as it doesn`t want Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to be solved and a peace agreement to be signed. Hostility and resentment are not good at all," Mansimov stressed.
