The United Nations condemned Friday a recent attack on the Russian Embassy in Syria that killed one person and injured nine others.
The United Nations condemned Friday a recent attack on the Russian Embassy in Syria that killed one person and injured nine others.
The UN Security Council described the incident as “terrorism” in a statement and said the perpetrators must be brought to justice.
Two mortar shells landed in the Russian Embassy in Damascus on Thursday, killing a Syrian security guard, injuring nine others and damaging the buildings, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
At least two similar attacks on the same embassy took place in September. No casualties were reported in the first incident, while at least three people were slightly injured in the second.
More than 100,000 people have been killed and 9 million people displaced since fighting broke out in Syria in 2011, according to the UN.
