First voyage Zangilan tanker, built at Baku Shipyard for Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC (ASCO) and commissioned on July 2 with participation of President Ilham Aliyev, was to Alaja port in Turkmenistan, AzVision.az reports citing ASCO.

The tanker delivered crude oil received there to Sangachal Sea Port on July 17.

Permanent crew of new generation tanker Zangilan with 141 meters length and 16.9 meters width consists of 15 people. Vessel has six cargo tanks with 9,212 cubic meters of total capacity, and 7,800 tons of full load capacity.

Technical parameters of vessel, especially the draft, allows it to enter relatively shallow ports of the Caspian basin and transport cargo outside the Caspian basin with maximum load capacity.

Zangilan is Azerbaijan's fourth domestic tanker built at Baku Shipyard. Unlike Lachin and Kalbajar tankers, commissioned earlier, Zangilan, as well as Akademik Khoshbakht Yusifzade tanker can transport both oil and chemical products.

There are plans to build three more tankers for ASCO at Baku Shipyard. In this regard, orders have been placed and relevant agreements have been signed.
