Western Azerbaijan Community accuses Armenian diaspora of smear campaign using Luis Ocampo

The Western Azerbaijan Community has said  that the Armenian diaspora has launched another smear campaign against Azerbaijan, using the hired Luis Ocampo as a facade, AzVision.az reports.

"Ocampo, presenting himself as a climate activist, criticised the holding of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijan and demanded the release of separatists accused of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity,” AzVision.az reports citing the Community’s statement.

According to the statement, “Instead of demanding the release of criminals, Ocampo would do better to try to clarify the fate of the 4,000 Azerbaijanis missing as a result of Armenia's military aggression.”

“There is irrefutable evidence that Azerbaijanis taken hostage during that period were used as slaves in the homes of high-ranking officers from the Armenian military leadership, that prisoners of war were executed in the occupied Azerbaijani territories and in camps in Armenia. Suppose Ocampo is so keen to prove himself as a climate activist. In that case, he might look into assessing the environmental damage Armenia has caused with its mining industry while occupying Azerbaijani territories and placing millions of mines there,” the Community says.

In addition, the statement condemned the actions of the Armenian diaspora and its hired servant Ocampo: “We call on the international community to fight such worthless elements.”
