The Fifth Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth under the moto “Youth for Green World” officially kicked off Friday in Azerbaijan’s city of Lachin.
Farah Aliyeva, Head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Issues of the Administration of the President of Azerbaijan, Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, Masim Mammadov, Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in Lachin district, Farid Jafarov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Culture Minister and Elvin Aslanov, representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation are attending the opening ceremony.
Co-organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the summer camp will run until August 7, bringing together 115 young people from 60 countries, including Azerbaijanis.
The participants will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the historical and cultural monuments of Lachin and Karabakh, as well as meet the families of martyrs and heroic veterans of the country. They will also join the entertainment activities, intellectual games, as well as meet with the experts specializing in various fields and take part in the panel discussions.
Moreover, the weeklong event includes visiting the "Islimi" carpet-weaving center, Hakari Fish Farm, “Hojazfilm” creative studio, the Zabukh village and “Gilabi Ceramics” center.
Notably, the Azerbaijani cities of Sheki, Shamakhi, Shusha, and Nakhchivan hosted the previous summer camps organized by the Diaspora Youth and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which brought together the young people from over 50 countries.
