Closing ceremony of Paris 2024 Olympic Games kicks off at Stade de France

The closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games kicked off at Stade de France.

Azerbaijani athletes will also join the official Parade of Nations with the country's flag-bearers - silver medalist of the Olympics, Taekwondo fighter Gashim Magomedov, and Zeynab Hummatova, a member of the Azerbaijan rhythmic gymnastics team, who earned the fifth-place finish in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Azerbaijani team won a total of 7 medals at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games sharing the 30th-31st places with Croatia.

Azerbaijani judokas Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg) were crowned Olympic champions, while taekwondo fighter Gashim Magomedov (58 kg) and boxer Alfonso Dominguez (92 kg) claimed silver medals, with Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg), and freestyle wrestlers Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kg) and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) securing bronze medals.

A total of 48 Azerbaijani athletes competed across 17 different programs encompassing 15 sports disciplines during the global sporting event.
