  US State Department approves sale of Apache helicopters to South Korea

The US State Department has approved a potential sale of 36 Apache attack helicopters and related components to South Korea for $3.5 billion, The Pentagon's Defense Security Cooperation Agency says, AzVision.az reports. 

According to the information, Sell submitted a request to buy from Washington 36 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, 76 T700-GE-701D engines, 456 AGM-114R2 missiles, 152 AGM-179A air-to-air missiles, and 40 AAR-57 common missile attack warning systems for a total of $3.5 billion.

The agency has notified the US Congress of the potential deal, as the procedure requires its approval.
