Azerbaijani wrestler wins bronze medal at world championship

The first winners of the World Under-17 Wrestling Championships in Amman were announced today, AzVision.az reports.

Three athletes of the Azerbaijani national team competed in Greco-Roman wrestling.

All three team members competed for the bronze medal.

In the consolation match, Amrah Amrahov defeated Kaloyan Ivanov from Bulgaria with a complete advantage (9:0) and advanced to the match for bronze. He won third place against Edige Tolevtayev (Kazakhstan) with a score of 3:1 and took a place on the podium.

55 kg
Ali Nazarov lost in the consolation match to Sardar Kholmurzaev from Uzbekistan with a score of 3:10 and finished the world championship in 5th place.

65 kg
Emil Abdullayev, who lost in the semi-finals, will compete for 3rd place. His opponent was Dzhabrail Umkhadzhiev (AIN), and he lost.

80 kg
Orkhan Gadzhiev, who stumbled in the first stage of the final, will fight for the bronze medal. He clarified his relationship with the Ukrainian Vladislav Solodchuk. The opponent won.

It is worth noting that today the Azerbaijani wrestlers reached the semi-finals of the World Championship.
