Newly appointed Belgian ambassador meets with Azerbaijani deputy FM

Newly appointed Belgian Ambassador Julien de Fraipont has met with Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, the ambassador's publication on X said, AzVision.az reports.

“I am honored to meet with Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev. This is the first official step of my mission to Baku. I look forward to cooperating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan,” the diplomat noted.

To recall, on December 31, 1991, the Kingdom of Belgium (Belgium) acknowledged the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azerbaijan). Subsequently, on February 20, 1992, Azerbaijan became the first post-Soviet state to establish diplomatic relations with Belgium. In 2007, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Azerbaijan was established.
