  Meeting held between Azerbaijani CEC chair and Organization of Turkic States delegation

Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov has met with a delegation led by Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Omer Kocaman, who is visiting Azerbaijan to monitor the upcoming parliamentary election, AzVision.az reports.

Panahov expressed his satisfaction with the meeting and welcomed the Organization of Turkic States' mission to observe the election.

He highlighted that for the first time, a parliamentary election would be held across all sovereign territories of Azerbaijan, ensuring that all participants would have the necessary conditions and opportunities to engage in the electoral process.

Kocaman thanked Panahov on behalf of the delegation for the warm reception. He expressed his pleasure in participating as an observer in the parliamentary election and emphasized his commitment to actively monitoring the proceedings. The international observers also showed interest in the preparations made for the upcoming election.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views and discussed various issues related to the election process.

On June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and scheduling a snap election for September 1.
