Within the visit, the Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army held meeting with Lieutenant General Luciano Portolano, who currently serves as the Secretary General of Defence/National Armaments Director, the Defense Ministry told AzVision.az.
Colonel General K.Valiyev congratulated Lieutenant General L.Portolano on his appointment as the Chief of Defence of the Italian Armed Forces and wished him success in the new position.
The meeting discussed further expansion of military-technical cooperation between the two countries and a range of other issues. The sides expressed confidence on successful continuation of cooperation.
Then, the Azerbaijani military delegation visited the Italian Joint Operations Command (JOC) and was informed about the activities of command.
