The official visit of the Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, to Italy continues, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense told reporters.
During the visit, the Chief of the General Staff held a meeting with Lieutenant General Luciano Portolano, who currently serves as the Secretary General of Defence/National Armaments Director.
Colonel General Karim Valiyev congratulated Lieutenant General Luciano Portolano on his appointment as the Chief of Defence of the Italian Armed Forces and wished him success in his new position.
The meeting discussed the further expansion of military-technical cooperation between the two countries and addressed a range of other issues. The sides expressed confidence in the successful continuation of cooperation.
Subsequently, the Azerbaijani military delegation visited the Italian Joint Operations Command (JOC) and was informed about its activities.
