Secretary General of Azerbaijan’s National Olympic Committee (NOC) Azer Aliyev met with a delegation led by Didier Budimbu, Minister of Sports and Culture of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, who is visiting Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Azer Aliyev informed Didier Budimbu about the work done, as well as achievements gained by Azerbaijan in the field of sports.
Emphasizing that Azerbaijani athletes brought home 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals from the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games held in Paris, the NOC Secretary General noted the Azerbaijani team ranked 30th in the overall medal ranking.
Didier Budimbu congratulated the Azerbaijani Olympic team on the victory in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of sports between the two countries.
