Azerbaijan joins International Anti-Corruption Academy
Azerbaijan became a member of the Bureau of the Assembly of member states of the Agreement for Establishment of the International Anti-Corruption Academy.

This decision was taken during the second Assembly of the member states of the Agreement for Establishment of this Academy held in Bangkok, Thailand, Azerbaijan`s Taxes Ministry said. The session was attended by delegations from 29 countries, 11 observer states and international organizations. Azerbaijan was represented by a delegation headed by Deputy Minister for Taxes Sahib Alakbarov.

The delegation also included employees of the Prosecutor Office and missions of Azerbaijan at the international organizations in Austria, AzerTAc reports.

Addressing the session, Alakbarov told the assembly participants about reforms held under leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in fighting against corruption, as well as successes achieved in this fight. It was noted that the development of civil and public services and improvement of their accessibility is one of the important elements of anti-corruption measures, and as an example of this Alakbarov spoke of the ASAN service centers of the State Agency for Citizens` Service and Social Innovation founded in 2012.

The composition of the bureau - the organization`s managing body was also elected for the next year.
