A number of bilateral meetings have been held between Azerbaijan's Health Minister Teymur Musayev and healthcare officials from other member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), a source in the Azerbaijani Health Ministry told reporters.

The meetings held within the framework of the IV meeting of the health ministers of OTS member states and observer countries involved Turkish Health Minister Kemal Memisoglu, First Deputy Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Davron Sultanov, Deputy Minister of Health of Kazakhstan Erbol Ospanov, Kyrgyz Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, and Deputy Minister of Health of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Durie Deren Oygara.

According to the source, during the bilateral meetings held in a spirit of constructive dialogue and mutual understanding, the parties discussed new prospects for developing and strengthening ties in healthcare and medical science, as well as opportunities for mutual application of progressive achievements and successful international experience exchange.

"During the meetings, Musayev emphasized the priority of creating a Unified Medical Scientific Space within the organization and developing unified standards for digital healthcare.

Highlighting that transplantation is one of the fastest-growing areas of modern medicine, the Azerbaijani minister pointed to the importance of the signed document establishing a joint system.

The health ministers of the member states and observers of the OTS pointed out the significance of today’s meeting for strengthening cooperation in healthcare.

The meetings underscored the importance of joint programs and initiatives in the prevention of infectious diseases, the development of the pharmaceutical sector, and ensuring the safety of medications.

There was also an expressed interest in enhancing cooperation in healthcare digitalization and medical tourism.

Emphasizing the significance of the signed documents and decisions made during the meetings, the health ministers of the member states and observers highly appreciated Azerbaijan's initiative to establish the Turktransplant system," the source added.

To note, the IV meeting has been organized jointly by the OTS and the Azerbaijani Ministry of Health.
