Azerbaijan to launch postal services in Karabakh by year-end

By the end of 2024, Azerbaijan’s postal operator "Azərpoçt" will begin operations in Karabakh, said Acting Chairman of the postal operator's Board Isi Mustafayev.

Mustafayev said that shortly, Azerbaijani citizens living in Khankendi and Shusha will be able to access comprehensive postal services, AzVision.az reports.

Addressing the issue of cybersecurity, Mustafayev highlighted that Azərpoçt, in addition to handling mail delivery, also issues MasterCard and Visa cards. To ensure cybersecurity, the company is taking all necessary precautions and utilising modern technologies.

“When analysing complaints about the theft of funds, it becomes evident that, in most cases, fraudsters obtain money with the customer’s consent. This consent is usually given as a result of tempting yet false promises,” he added.

Notably, "Azərpoçt" is the national postal operator of Azerbaijan, providing a range of postal and financial services across the country. Established in 1999, it operates under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan. "Azərpoçt" offers services including mail delivery, express shipping, parcel services, and financial operations such as money transfers and utility bill payments.

The company has expanded its network to cover urban and rural areas, focusing on enhancing the efficiency of postal services and introducing modern technologies, like e-commerce solutions, to meet growing demand. "Azərpoçt" has also partnered with international postal networks, allowing it to facilitate cross-border services.
