Brazilian President Lula da Silva to attend COP29 in Baku

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will arrive in Azerbaijan to participate in the Baku Global Climate Conference COP29, André Corrêa do Lago, secretary for climate, energy and environment at the Brazilian Ministry of External Affairs, AzVision.az informs, citing Report news agency.

Do Lago emphasized that the COP29 conference is extremely important for Brazil, as the host country of the upcoming 30th COP session.

"Undoubtedly, COP29 is extremely important for us because it will address the issue of financing through new collective quantitative goals - NCQG. Thus, with the advancement of discussions on financing, we will be able to hold more fruitful debates on nationally determined contributions (NDCs). This will be the main topic of COP30 in Brazil," he said.
