Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, as part of her working visit to the city of Dushanbe, Uzbekistan.
Tanzila Narbaeva expressed her confidence that the legislative bodies of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan would continue to maintain high-level cooperation and close contacts.
The sides hailed the dynamic development of relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries. They noted that similar religious and spiritual values and language between the two peoples make a great contribution to the further expansion of the bilateral relations.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova said that relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan had reached a new stage after the two countries acquired independence.
The speakers emphasized the role of the heads of state in the development of enhanced ties between the two countries covering many spheres.
The two also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
