Special Representative of Azerbaijani President: To date, up to 20 historical monuments have been fully restored in Shusha

“It has now been more than three years since the launch of extensive restoration and reconstruction works in the city of Shusha, with up to 20 historical monuments having been fully restored,” Aydin Karimov, Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in Shusha district said, AzVision.az reports citing Azertag.

Highlighting the hosting of a symposium on “Islamic Architectural Heritage of Shusha City”, Aydin Karimov said that the participants familiarized themselves with architectural heritage of Shusha, the bright sample of the Islamic architecture, and efforts made towards its preservation.

The two-day event, held within the framework of events marking the declaration of Shusha as “Cultural Capital of the Islamic World” for 2024, brings together more than 80 architects from Türkiye, Egypt, the UAE, Tunisia, Kenya, Jordan, Italy, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Azerbaijan.
