The status and future of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Japan, along with the peace process between Baku and Yerevan and the upcoming COP29 conference, were discussed during the working visit of Elchin Amirbayov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Special Assignments, to Japan, AzVision.az reports.
"On a working visit to Japan Ambassador Elchin Amirbayov met with National Security Advisor Takeo Akiba, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kiyoto Tsuji, Head of foreign and defense committee of the House of Councillors Kimi Onoda to discuss Azerbaijan-Japan bilateral relations, current status, prospects and challenges to the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process and forthcoming COP29 in Baku," Azerbaijani Ambassador to Japan Gursel Ismayilzada wrote on his page on X.
The ambassador added that Elchin Amirbayov also addressed the Japan Forum of International Relations (JFIR) with a talk on “Historic chance for peace in South Caucasus: challenges and opportunities”.
