Azerbaijan Army held a series of events on the occasion of 25 October - Gubadli City Day, the Ministry of Defense told reporters.
The events with family members of martyrs, servicemen, public representatives and war veterans commenced with commemorating the bright memory of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
The speakers emphasized the historical significance of the glorious Victory achieved as a result of the counter-offensive operations under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief in response to the large-scale provocations of the Armenian armed forces, the solidarity shown by the Azerbaijani people in the Patriotic War for the liberation of the lands from occupation and the strategic role of liberation of Gubadli from the enemy.
It was noted that the relevant decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the establishment of city days of the Republic of Azerbaijan indicate the high value given to the historical traditions.
At the events, the Army Ideological and Cultural Center named after Hazi Aslanov, the Ganja Garrison Ideological and Cultural Center and military orchestras performed music pieces glorifying patriotism.
