Under the plan approved by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 8 November - Victory Day celebrations included marches accompanied by military orchestras, organized on the central streets, avenues and squares of Baku, Ganja, Khankendi, Shusha, and Lachin.
The marches commenced with a solemn tribute to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for sovereignty of Azerbaijan. The National Anthem was performed.
The military orchestras played patriotic songs and marches, which were met with great interest and applause from the citizens.
