 Opening ceremony of "Araz-2025" joint exercise held

The opening ceremony of the "Araz-2025" joint exercise was held on Monday in Azerbaijan, according to the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.

As part of the event, the Azerbaijani and Iranian exercise leaders, along with other high-ranking representatives, visited the monument erected in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland and laid flowers.

The memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity of both countries was honored with a minute of silence. The National Anthems of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran were performed.

In their speeches, the exercise leaders wished success to the participants and underlined the significance of the joint exercise. They emphasized that the “Araz-2025” exercise plays an important role in further strengthening the steadily developing military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran. It was also noted that the exercise contributes to building mutual trust between the two countries and their armed forces.

The ceremony concluded with a solemn march by military personnel in front of the grandstand.
