Frederick Audley Mitchell, Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Public Service of the Bahamas, who is on visit to Azerbaijan to attend the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, has today visited the "ASAN Xidmet" center in Baku.
The Bahamian foreign minister was informed about the activities of the State Agency for Citizen Services and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the "ASAN Xidmet" centers, established on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, as well as the projects implemented in the sphere of social innovations.
With the application of the most advanced information technologies, these Centers provide efficient and transparent access to key public and private services for citizens, foreign residents, as well as legal entities in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Agency received the United Nations (UN) Public Service Award in 2015, the UN Special Award for public services development through the introduction of digital management in 2019, and "The World's Most Advanced Public Service" in 2023 within the framework of the "Global Government Excellence Award" Program. The Agency coordinate with various countries and international organizations to share ASAN service’s experience.
Emphasizing that he was deeply impressed with the “ASAN Xidmet” concept, Foreign Minister Frederick Audley Mitchell underscored that they would consider the possibility of applying this concept in his country.
The foreign minister of the Bahamas also familiarized himself with the activities of "INNOLAND" Incubation and Acceleration Center, “Mobile Asan Xidmet” and "ABAD".
