Baku hosts Ministerial Forum on Green Good Governance organized by ASAN Xidmet

The Ministerial Forum on Green Good Governance organized by "ASAN Xidmet" kicked off Wednesday in the COP29 Blue Zone.

Addressing the event, Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan, emphasized that the Azerbaijani government is strongly committed to sustainable development in response to global climate change.

According to him, President Ilham Aliyev signed an Order on approving “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development”. The order also envisages the creation of a clean environment and the transformation of Azerbaijan into a country of “green growth.”

"Azerbaijan's efforts towards sustainable development have been accelerated since assuming the presidency of COP29. Azerbaijan's hosting of COP29 in 2024 which was declared as the “Green World Solidarity Year” underscores its commitment to climate action. The fact that of representatives of various nations have come together for this event indicate that COP29 will be a significant milestone,” Ulvi Mehdiyev added.
