Kazakhstan to host UN Regional Climate Summit in 2026

The first event on Climate dialogue: Towards the 2026 Regional Climate Summit was held in Kazakhstan’s pavilion as part of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku.

Addressing the event, Yerlan Nyssanbayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, stressed the need for a collective approach to confront climate challenges, saying: "Climate change knows no national borders. We must join forces to tackle global challenges".

During the event, the minister expressed his gratitude to international partners for their contribution to the implementation of climate initiatives and support in organizing the upcoming regional summit. He noted that international organizations have confirmed their readiness to collaborate.

Emphasizing that Kazakhstan intends to create an environment for open and constructive dialogue by facilitating the exchange of best practices and innovative solutions, the minister underscored: "The Regional Climate Summit will provide a platform for developing joint strategies to tackle climate change.”
