Famous British actor Theo James, Goodwill Ambassador for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), also attended the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change hosted in Azerbaijan.
The actor participated in the presentation ceremony of the “Refugees for Climate Action” network of UNHCR, launched at COP29. This initiative is designed to amplify the voices of displaced communities in the global climate debate.
During his address, Theo James demanded great support for refugees and displaced communities worldwide, affected by climate change and their inclusion into climate policy.
He said that, as the UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, he joined the COP29 to request support for refugees, internally displaced persons and their host communities, who are most affected by climate change, and cannot receive sufficient support.
