Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, visited Azerbaijan’s Alley of Honors and Alley of Martyrs on Tuesday.
The Rais of Tatarstan first payed respect and laid a wreath at the tomb of the National Leader, founder and architect of the modern independent Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev.
He also put flowers at the grave of the National Leader’s wife, prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
Rustam Minnikhanov then commemorated the Azerbaijani heroes, who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence and territorial integrity. He also laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
He also enjoyed a panoramic view from the highest point of Baku and was informed about the history of the Alley of Martyrs and redevelopment of the city.
