'With Azerbaijan joining D-8, we are stronger than yesterday' - Erdogan

"Our organization is stronger now than before Azerbaijan's admittance. I would like to extend a warm 'Welcome' to brotherly Azerbaijan, to the D-8 family," said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, celebrating Azerbaijan's decision to join the D-8 Economic Cooperation Organization, AzVision.az reports.

Addressing the 11th summit of D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation in Cairo, the Turkish head of state underlined that "the important steps Azerbaijan has taken in recent years."

He remarked that the organization’s expanding membership is enhancing the D-8’s global influence.

Furthermore, President Erdoğan emphasized the importance of keeping the organization’s doors open to potential partners, announcing that Indonesia is ready to engage in dialogue with the D-8.

Turkish media also focused on Azerbaijan’s accession to the D-8.
