  Flags at UN Baku mission lowered in tribute to victims of Aktau crash

Flags have been lowered at the United Nations (UN) Office in Baku in connection with the tragic loss of life in the AZAL plane crash near Aktau, AzVision.az reports.

The UN representation shared the relevant footage in a post on its official X page.

"We stand in solidarity with the people of Azerbaijan during this time of grief and remembrance," the publication said.

To note, AZAL's Embraer 190 passenger plane on the Baku-Grozny route crashed 3 km away from Aktau airport on December 25.

A total of 67 people (62 passengers and 5 crew members) were on board the Embraer 190 airplane, flying Baku-Grozny, which crashed in Aktau.
