  Azerbaijan holds farewell ceremony for crew members of plane crash

A farewell ceremony is being held at Heydar Aliyev International Airport for the crew members of the Embraer passenger plane that crashed in Kazakhstan on December 25.

The family members of the victims, officials, and public representatives attended the ceremony, AzVision.az reports.

The three crew members, namely, Captain Igor Kshnyakin, co-pilot Aleksandr Kalyaninov and flight attendant Hokuma Aliyeva will be laid to rest at the second Alley of Martyrs on December 29.

The crash occurred on December 25, when an Embraer aircraft operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, en route from Baku to Grozny, tragically crashed near Aktau. The plane was carrying 67 people, including 37 Azerbaijanis, 16 Russians, 6 Kazakhs, and 3 Kyrgyz nationals. Sadly, 38 people lost their lives in the crash, with 29 survivors.
