Armenia hands note of protest to Russian envoy

Russian Ambassador to Yerevan Sergey Kopyrkin was summoned to the Armenian Foreign Ministry and was handed a note of protest, AzVision.az reports, citing the ministry.

According to the ministry, Armenia's dissatisfaction is related to statements made during the News of the Week program on a Russian state TV channel on January 12.

"During the broadcast, artificially generated narratives were voiced that were directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia. On January 15, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia S.P. Kopyrkin was summoned to the Armenian Foreign Ministry. During the meeting, a corresponding note of protest was handed to the ambassador," the ministry said.

On January 12, Dmitry Kiselev's program aired a report on Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the opening of regional communications, and the Armenian government's decision to support the EU accession process.
