Ruslan Nasibov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, presented his credentials to Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of the Republic of Djibouti.
During the meeting, Ambassador Nasibov conveyed greetings from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to President Guelleh. In response, the Djibouti President asked the ambassador to communicate his own greetings to the Azerbaijani President.
Ambassador Ruslan Nasibov, met with Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Djibouti, Aboubaker Omar Hadi, Chairman of Djibouti Ports & Free Zones Authority (minister), Chair of the Djibouti-Azerbaijani Friendship Group operating in the National Assembly of Djibouti (parliament) Ilaya Ismail, as well as with Workneh Gebeyehu, Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), a regional economic community of the African Union.
The meetings addressed the regional situation, new reality in the region following the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty, reconciliation process with Armenia, as well as development prospects of Azerbaijan-Djibouti relations at the international and bilateral levels.
