Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Turkish Ambassador Cahit Bagci who is concluding his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan..
The meeting discussed various aspects of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye alliance, as well as regional and international security issues of mutual interest.
Jeyhun Bayramov expressed his condolences regarding the tragic fire at a hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort in Bolu province. He wished Allah’s mercy upon the deceased, and a swift recovery for the injured.
FM Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan stands in solidarity with brotherly Türkiye and its people.
The minister thanked Ambassador Cahit Bagci for his impressive diplomatic efforts in the country, contributions to Azerbaijani-Turkish fraternity, friendship and alliance, and wished him success in his future endeavors. Bayramov emphasized the ambassador’s pivotal role during historical milestones in Azerbaijani-Turkish relations, including the signing of the Shusha Declaration.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the successful development of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations in political, security, economic, trade, energy security, transport, humanitarian, and other fields. They underscored the importance of maintaining support and solidarity within regional and international organizations, as well as in multilateral formats.
The parties expressed confidence in the joint Azerbaijani-Turkish activities contributing to regional and international security will continue in the future. Minister Bayramov noted Azerbaijan’s readiness to cooperate with Türkiye on stability and humanitarian issues, particularly in the Middle East and Syria, and highlighted the significant potential for collaboration in Africa.
Ambassador Bağcı expressed his gratitude for the support provided during his tenure, stating, "With great pride, I will always remember my work as an ambassador in Azerbaijan." He pledged his continued contributions to the Azerbaijani-Turkish brotherhood and alliance.
