The special envoy of the Russian president for relations with international organizations for the achievement of sustainable development goals, Boris Titov, has met with Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov and Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev in Baku, the Russian official wrote on social media account, AzVision.az reports.

'We discussed the proposal to join the initiative to create the SCO Council on Sustainable Development,'” the publication reads.

According to Titov, it is necessary to change the approach to the embodiment of the SDGs, and in five years until 2030, it is necessary to manage to form this approach.

“Azerbaijan, by the way, is moving along this path not in words, but in deeds. It is enough to recall the results of the last UN climate conference, COP29, which was held in Baku. The fact that the creation of an international market of carbon units has moved from the brake is the merit of the organizers,” he added.
