Azerbaijani PM attends Digital Almaty 2025 int

Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov participated in the "Digital Almaty 2025" international digital forum in Almaty on January 31, during his official visit to the city, AzVision.az reports.

Speaking at the event, Asadov emphasized the importance of the forum, noting it provides an effective platform for discussing digital development and innovation, as well as finding joint solutions to the challenges of digital transformation.

He also highlighted that Azerbaijan prioritizes digital development as a key element of the state strategy.

Azerbaijan approved the 'Digital Development Concept' on January 16 this year, which has become the main guideline for the country's digital transformation, setting strategic priorities in this area, Asadov pointed out.

"One of the key areas of the digital development strategy is artificial intelligence (AI). We are currently developing Azerbaijan's AI Strategy, with a special focus on identifying priority sectors where the implementation of AI technologies can significantly improve the efficiency and quality of services. These sectors include healthcare, transportation, and education," he added.

Asadov also emphasized Azerbaijan’s commitment to developing and implementing modern and flexible legislation.

"A legal framework has been created for the use of various documents in digital format, which simplifies the interaction between citizens and government agencies, contributing to the creation of a convenient and accessible digital ecosystem," the PM added.

The Prime Minister further underscored the need for reliable infrastructure to ensure access to modern digital services for all segments of society. He characterized access to high-speed internet as a key element of such infrastructure.

"Among the significant initiatives aimed at developing internet infrastructure, the 'Online Azerbaijan' project stands out. As part of this project, over ninety-nine percent of residential and commercial properties have been connected to high-speed broadband internet," he said.

Asadov also mentioned the creation of the "Digital Government" platform and the launch of the national data exchange system, "Digital Bridge," which has fully digitalized the process of information exchange between government institutions. The "Government Cloud" project has also been launched to enhance government efficiency.

"These are just a small part of the projects being implemented to create a sustainable, modern, and secure digital infrastructure necessary for the development of 'e-government' and accelerating digital transformation," he added.

Noting that digital transformation is not only a technological process but also an opportunity to strengthen international cooperation, Asadov expressed Azerbaijan's readiness to continue working together to create a sustainable digital future.
