Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu on February 15, 2025, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, AzVision.az reports.
The meeting focused on bilateral cooperation, current challenges facing the OSCE, and regional and international security issues. Special attention was given to the situation in the region and the progress of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Bayramov congratulated Sinirlioglu on his appointment as OSCE Secretary General and wished him success in his role. He emphasized the importance of upholding international law, including the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of internationally recognized borders, particularly in light of current European security challenges.
The Azerbaijani minister provided a detailed overview of the regional situation in the post-conflict period, stressing the need to dismantle structures left over from the occupation period. According to him, this would enable the OSCE to better align its activities with current regional realities.
Addressing the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Bayramov highlighted ongoing obstacles, including Armenia’s retention of territorial claims against Azerbaijan in its Constitution and legislative framework.
The meeting also covered other issues of mutual interest.
