Sahiba Gafarova, Azerbaijan’s Speaker of Milli Majlis, met with Birol Akgün, newly appointed Ambassador of Türkiye to the country.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova congratulated the incoming ambassador of fraternal Türkiye on his appointment, wishing him success in his diplomatic mission.
The sides hailed the high level of relations between the two brotherly countries. They noted that the Azerbaijani-Turkish fraternal ties have reached the highest level under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, describing these ties as unparalleled on the global stage.
They described the brotherly and friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye as an important factor in ensuring peace, stability, and security in the region.
During the conversation, the parties also touched upon the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye within the international organizations.
The sides underscored that the high-level relations between the two countries are also successfully continued on the platform of the two countries’ parliaments.
Birol Akgün noted that he would spare no effort to further strengthen the existing allied relations during his tenure as Türkiye's ambassador to Azerbaijan.
The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
