Chairman of Senate: Pakistan and Azerbaijan are fraternal nations that consistently support each other

Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with a Pakistani parliamentary delegation led by Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Chairman of the Senate, who is visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) in Baku.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova described the visit as yet another manifestation of friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. Noting that strategic relations between the two countries are built on the principles of friendship and brotherhood, Sahiba Gafarova emphasized that both countries constantly support each other both bilaterally and internationally, and thus, relations between the two states are have been thriving in all areas.

The Azerbaijani Speaker highlighted the special role of high-level reciprocal visits in evolving relations between the two nations.

The Speaker also lauded the strong interparliamentary cooperation, emphasizing the vital role played by the Azerbaijan-Pakistan interparliamentary friendship groups.

Describing Pakistan and Azerbaijan as two brotherly nations consistently supporting each other, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani noted that the peoples share common values. He lauded high-level diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan across all areas, including between the parliaments. The Chairman of Pakistan’s Senate underscored a crucial role of regular reciprocal visits in this regard. He also highlighted Pakistan’s upcoming hosting of the Second Trilateral Meeting of Speakers of Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Türkiye this year.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani outlined ample opportunities to further developing relations in the domains of trade, defense, energy, culture, and education.

The meeting also addressed other issues of mutual interest.
